Time: 12:00 NOON
Kim is one of the UK's Leading health and fitness experts, known to many as the 'Mind Body Ninja’! She’s a lady who has always set her personal expectations high - she’s coached team GB Olympians and Strictly Come Dancing professional dancers, runs her own business in Bristol, and has won International Personal Trainer of the Year in 2007 & 2015 and Global Trainer to Watch in 2013. In her ‘spare’ time she has raised £40,000 for various charities, has run the Sierra Leone Marathon and has trekked across the Andes on a horse.
But her biggest challenge, one that no one could have predicted, was a terrifying turning point in June 2013 when Kim was training for a triathlon and contracted Weil’s Disease and then Encephalitis.
This vicious disease messes with your body and mind. Kim has suffered seizure-like episodes and changes to her normal brain function and has had to relearn some of the daily processes that we all do, literally without thinking.
This is the first time she’ll have delivered a public speaking gig in front of a large audience since contracting the disease. Sharing her experience from contracting Weils disease and Encephalitis, and knowledge from DNA Fitness Training and Neuro Linguistic Programming, her talk will explore the deep connections between the body and mind.
For TEDxBristol Kim will combine her very personal story with her professional health and fitness knowledge to provoke thought to help you feel more confident, take action and learn to like yourself - every bit of you.
