We’re really excited to be back from our break and making some fantastic plans for the “big one” - which returns in 2019.

After the success of our two-day event Dare To Disrupt in 2017, we’re keen to seek out more positive disruptors and trailblazers, and feature voices and stories that are not being heard in mainstream media. Maybe you know someone bursting with disruptive spirit, doing something remarkable, whose story could inspire thousands? Or maybe you'd like to join our team?

If so, we’ll be hosting a special keynote on Wednesday 10th October at the Business Showcase South West, exploring the fantastic opportunities that can come from taking a step into the unknown and living your “passion project”, rather than just thinking about it.

My own “passion project” took on a life of its own last year, when we were able to launch TEDxBristol officially as a non-profit company, and make over 260 free places available at the show to local school children and community groups. The results were electric - people from all backgrounds and viewpoints started sharing ideas and finding common ground. So as we look to 2019, we’re keen to invite on board new team members to the project, and to continue our passion for working with talented, inspiring people, whatever your background or level of experience.

As well as volunteer opportunities, we’re really delighted to be working with Opus Talent Solutions to recruit for some key paid part-time roles for the 2019 event. Opus came along to the show in 2017 and liked it so much that they have offered us pro-bono support to help build this year’s team.

We’re recruiting for an experienced Business Development lead, someone with a passion for connecting people, and a book full of local contacts. This person will work closely with our existing TEDxBristol partners, sponsors and supporters, as well as develop new partnerships, to create a world-class event in 2019.

Looking forward to seeing you at the Business Showcase next week, and at our TEDxBristol events in 2019.
